18 Months ago a great tragedy struck Aceh and the world watched in horror as the events of December 26th 2004 were shown on TV screens in the US, Uk , NZ in fact all over the world.

As Director of Mercy Teams International I also watched the devastation and decided to bring my team and help with rebuilding the lives and community in Aceh Province. Many foreigners before did not even know where Aceh was, but now the world knows.

Mercy Teams International works in many countries around South East Asia, in Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar etc, our emphasis always is that every child has been made by God and God’s desire is they will reach their fullest potential, physically, spiritually and mentally Thru God’s love shining in their hearts and changing them from within.

We have built this Teka in Garot village , so that the children in this village will know that something good came out of the Tsanumi and that God does care for you and so do people all around the world.

I want to pay tribute to our project supervisor JORDAN REAGAN who could not be here today but who guided the building construction from the start. Thank you also to Murray and Kent two builders who came from NZ to help, also Mark from South Africa and for Pitter our staff worker. A big thank you to the workers from Garot village and for Dede and his team from Hamba Rebana.

I AM PROUD OF YOU ALL THAT THIS BUILDING NOW STANDS TO SERVE THE CHILDREN OF GAROT VILLAGE FOR MANY YEARS TO COME.
